What an incredible afternoon at Spring Bling 2026! On May 3, more than 200 community members gathered at the Hotel Roanoke to celebrate, connect, and support the mission of West End Center for Youth — and thanks to your generosity, together we raised more than $20,000 to support local youth programs.

At West End Center, our volunteers bring heart, experience, and a deep commitment to the students we serve—and DeeDee is a wonderful example of that impact in action. DeeDee was first introduced to West End Center through her work as a teacher, where she taught students who also attended the program.

At West End Center, some of our most meaningful full-circle moments come when former students return to give back. This semester, we are proud to highlight two student volunteers from Patrick Henry High School who are making a difference in the same place that once supported them. At West End Center, our interns and college student volunteers play a vital role in the daily life of our programs. From supporting group activities like literacy time and homework help to joining students on the playground, they are fully engaged in creating a fun, supportive, and enriching environment. Roanoke Police Department and RunAbout Sports team up each year to take weekly runds with youth from the West End Center.

The summer tradition is a favorite - one the students say they look forward to all year.

Connecting kids and cops - that's the goal of the Badge Buddies program in Roanoke.

West End Center serves about 150 children each year, providing them and their families with low-cost academic enrichment, wellness programs and leadership training to become productive, responsible adults. BUZZ partner 5Points Creative returns to provide a comprehensive marketing package to promote West End Center to a wider audience.‍
